5 Minute Project

Every now and then I remember to pull out my camera to document the random little things that happen around the house. Every time I do I wish I did it more often!!  I want to push myself to capture more for my family and for me, so my goal for 2015 is to take 5 minutes at least once a month (hopefully more) to capture the little details of our day to day life. Thus begins my 5 Minute Project!! I’m excited for it and look forward to the challenge.

Today my little man decided he wanted to wear underwear for the first time ever! I’m so ready for him to be out of diapers, but not so much for the whole potty training part. But I will admit he looks absolutely adorable in his little super hero undies!

Baby Burns

I love love LOVE being able to attend the birth of a new little bundle and photograph the miracle that it is!! I love seeing the tender touches, hearing the reassuring words, and being able to witness the miracle that the whole birth process is. Each birth is completely unique and beautiful. I still can’t believe I’ve been through it 5 times myself! Totally worth it I might add 🙂

This adorable baby boy came into the world a whopping 8 pounds 4 ounces, with the most adorable bum chin and dimple in his cheek. Mom did amazing and I loved watching dad do what he could to help. It’s interesting being on the other end of things. It’s hard to watch someone go through the unbearable pain and not be able to do anything. I feel for dads! And mom had the best midwives ever!! They were both there for my last baby’s birth!! If you’re contemplating a birth photographer at your next birth, don’t think, just do it! It is 150% worth it!

JAMES | Calgary Family Photos

Despite being cold I had so much fun with the James family taking their family photos. They were ADORABLE!! I LOVED their outfits! Seriously perfect! And everyone were such troopers as it was quite cold (-10C, that’s 14F in case you were wondering). I know we get WAY colder than that here in Calgary, but for photos of any kind that is COLD.

If you’re considering family photos in the winter months, jackets, scarves, toques, boots and fur can all be awesome accessories. This mama had that figured out and even when wearing their jackets they all looked great. I’m glad they were willing to brave the cold without their jackets because seriously how great are their outfits!

Thanks for braving the cold and being so awesome James family!

Cluff Family

Locations for family photos can be tricky, but I love when there’s a place that has special meaning for the family. This lovely couple got married 8 years ago at this very park and opted for family photos there to celebrate their little man’s 1st birthday. I loved hearing their stories from their wedding day, and loved even more being able to capture more memories for them.
