Calgary Family and Wedding Photographer
I love the Piepgrass family. I met them when their oldest was about 7!! And now she’s in college and the 2nd is off to Mexico to do service! I love that they chose to have the Calgary Temple in their photos. It is such a beautiful place! We watched as the skies turned black and rushed to get photos done before the big, fat, heavy rain came. Thankfully we made it – barely.

I love fall, especially for family photos! Let me stop for a second to tell you that I am seriously the luckiest photographer in the world. My clients are always so wonderful to work with. That’s true of my session with the Fairbanks family, too!
I met up with them at Edworthy Park (you know it’s one of my favorite locations!) and the weather was perfect for fall family photos. While the weather was nice, it was this darling family that made this shoot such a treat. The boys were so well behaved and we had a blast throwing rocks in the river. Plus, as an added bonus, their mom had them dressed adorable!! I love the greys and blues she chose. Perfect for such handsome little men.
It’s that time of year again. School is starting!! Is anyone else having mixed emotions about school starting tomorrow?? We have had a crazy busy, but fun summer and I’m not sure I’m ready for it to end. On the other hand trying to keep 5 kids entertained and happy for the last 2 months has had its challenges. I think the kids are ready for a little more structure too. I’m looking forward to school but will miss my kiddos when they’re gone.
Ok let’s forget about school for just a moment and get on to the photos 🙂 … I recently had a fabulous session with Luke and Mandi and their 5 kids. They were up visiting from Utah and I’m so glad we were able to do their family portraits before they headed home. I grew up with Luke and it is so fun to see him with 5 kids! His wife, Mandi, is one of the kindest people I have ever met. I keep hoping one day they’ll move back here, they are great people and I love being around them.
We met at this great little park in Royal Oak. I love shooting here. It may not look like much when you drive by, but I always love how photos turn out. Plus, there’s a playground on the way out, so it’s a good way to entice the kids to be happy. I’m not against a little bribery every now and then 😉

Hey all!!
Oh how I just adore the family I’m blogging about today! This is another wonderful family I have had the privilege of photographing over the last few years. I love that each year we try for a new location and style. This year Shelby’s idea of an urban/grunge feel to their shoot was fantastic! We had so much fun scoping out the back alleys of downtown Calgary. Every time we found something interesting we’d hop out of the truck, do some shots, hop back in and drive til we found the next one. I really love the almost gritty feel from their urban family shoot!
Let’s not forget how adorable the girls are!! So much spunk, I just love it! It look a little bit for the girls to warm up to having their photos taken, but once they did they rocked it! So much personality!!
Thanks for the great night and I can’t wait to see what ideas you have for next year!! And yes, they had a little dance party in the back alleys of downtown Calgary. Love it!
